The Girl in the Cornfield was the film that started it all for Shady Dawn Pictures, as it was their first project to gain a substantial degree of notoriety, and also featured actresses who went on to become mainstays of the label (Briana Aceti, Tiffany Browne-Tavarez, Madeline Lupi). Looking back, Ryan would acknowledge he didn't have a great grasp on lighting during production (2015), and his directing abilities have also come a long way since then.
